Call
for manuscript submission for Special Issue of
Methods and Applications in Clinical Research in
the Genomic Era
Editors: Hui Zhang, Yu Jiang, Fengyu Zhang
With
the increasingly available tools of biotechnology in genomics and other
“Omics,” the then U.S. President Obama announced the precision medicine initiative
in 2015. The goal of this initiative is to pioneer a new model of biomedical
and health research that promises to accelerate biomedical discoveries and translate them into new tools,
knowledge, and
therapies for clinicians to select which treatments will work best
for which patients and for public health professionals to decide better when
and how preventative measures should be taken. This may revolutionize the
clinical research by collecting bio-specimen for biomarker discovery, but may
also provide a challenge to study design and data analysis. We call for
manuscript submission focusing on but not limited to the following topics.
·
Innovative study design for
clinical research with biomarker discovery
·
A novel analysis of
molecular data generated from clinical trials
·
Integrating multiple
biomarkers for prediction of clinical outcome
·
Power calculation and
sample size determination for a study of biomarkers that are based on clinical
trials.
·
Novel application of a
statistical model to clinical and biomedical data
We
welcome original research papers, reviews, perspectives, and commentary
articles on previously published papers in the literature. Manuscripts can be
submitted online at https://www.gcatresearch.com/manuscript-submission/first-submission/.
